the island of serenai, or more specifically the town of aerdell within that island, was once a popular tourist spot. a relaxing, beautiful island with a wide variety of flora and fauna. it was a prosperous and successful place.
but nothing can last forever...
it is unknown how exactly it originated, but the human inhabitants of the island were swept away by a strange disease. it took the lives of many of the humans and the rest, who hadn't yet got sick, left the island to escape from the disease.
they didn't take their pets...
at first, the dogs who had once lived their lives alongside their human masters, remained loyal and vigilant, waiting for their masters to come back for them. they soon realised that the humans weren't coming back.
unsure of what to do, the first dogs managed to eke out a living by surviving on the remnants of food the humans had left. but that certainly couldn't last...
the dogs soon took to the streets, teaching themselves how to hunt rats and the small creatures of the city. they eventually formed a pack and managed to live successfully in the town.
they got bored after a while...
many wanted something more. to go beyond the limits of the town and live in the vast wilderness that spread across the rest of the island. they wanted to make the whole island into their territory.
they were oblivious to the island's other dominant inhabitants. the wolves.
of course, when they heard of the intentions of the mongrels of the town, the wolves were not happy. tensions began to rise between the two groups of canines and soon fights began to break out.
naturally the wolf pack of the land wants to keep their territory safe from the humans' servants. but the dogs won't give up in their cause for more freedom than they had dreamed of. and then there are those who believe that the two can co-exist.
locked in a tense battle, whose resolve will prove to be more powerful? it's only a matter of time before the tensions break completely and an all out war will raze the once peaceful island.
