The wind blew through the tall trees making them dance and point at the fea as she walked along. The smell of loneliness and death pushed her on not worried for her life as her tummy controlled her now.The needles pricked her paws but still nothing stopped the fea as she wondered through the dark laughing forest. She stopped and sniffed the air before starting again, something did not smell right to her.She walked through the brush and then stopped dead as bodies of deer looked at her only half eaten and still fresh. The movement of big black fur made her bolt to a deer pluck off a good piece of meat and bolt again in a different direction. She was a strong fea though the branches cut into her back. She dropped the meat and looked around before ripping into it and easing her tummy with the fresh meat. Her audits flicked when a twig snapped and she tuned barring her teeth and letting out a dig growl.

Spider Spider slinked from tree to tree, his body melting into the shadows cast by the sun blocking branches of the vegetation around him. He gracefully moved across the forest floor, occasionally hopping across a stray boulder or stump, a smile all the while planted across his face. It was more of a content smile, the wolf would rather be out doing something more exciting than simply walking through the forest, but the occasional jump and sprint kept his spirits up enough that he felt at ease, though he was on his ever continuing search for something to do. Finding a rather large grey boulder that jutted out from the needle and leaf covered ground, Spider nimbly climbed up its side, his feet coming to rest atop the rough surface of the boulder as he peered out into the forest. He could spot nothing around him, the rock wasn’t high enough and all he could spot was tree after tree stretching on, the dim light illuminating the forest floor until it disappeared from his vision. Though slightly disappointed at this, the wolf simply shrugged the thought aside and decided to continue his search. Since he was already atop the boulder however, Spider lifted his nose into the air, taking in a deep inhale of the summer air, the rich and varied smells of the forest washing over him as his smiled widened slightly. It flattened out somewhat however when a peculiar smell reached his nose, and for a moment the wolf simply turned in the direction in which the breeze carried the scent, a look of curiosity upon his face. It was a somewhat out of place smell, but the more it reached his nose, the more Spider realized it was not a scent that was unknown to him, rather it was one that was not uncommon, but one that was welcoming. It was the smell of a fresh kill that rode the air, and Spider knew such a kill was free pickings, as long as the predator which killed it, if that indeed was the cause of death, was smaller than a wolf, but it was something that was common. And even if not, the wolf had confidence he could simply run in, grab a mouthful, and then run off before whatever had killed the prey could catch him in the act. And being a loner Spider would not let this opportunity simply go away, food wasn’t always easy to come by, and a full stomach made an even happier wolf. Taking in the scent one more time to get finalize its direction, the wolf jumped from the top of the boulder, easily landing on the soft forest ground and taking off into a sprint. It was not long before the smell began to increase in strength, and soon Spider slowed down, his feet coming to a gentle stride. Knowing that something less than pleasant could be lurking nearby, the wolf pressed his body against the shadows of the trees and bushes around him, moving quickly from place to place, all the while his eyes scanning the area around him and his ears perked and alert for any sound. Passing through a clump of small bushes, the wolf stopped inside the protective growth, his eyes peering out from the tangle of branch and leaf. In front of him was a small clearing, the ground open to the sunlight that soared down from above, illuminating small flowers and ferns that reached up towards the life bringing celestial orb. Spider paid little attention to his however, for his eyes upon looking into the clearing soon came upon the real prize of the discovery, a half-eaten deer that lay near the center of the clearing, the scent of the flesh kill almost pulling Spider immediately towards it, his mouth watering slightly at the sight of the food, food that he did not have to kill himself. Caution kept his mind about him however, and instead of foolishly rushing forward and inviting large amounts of trouble, despite the strong urge to do so, the wolf stopped his movements and listened into the forest as he continued to glance throughout the clearing. He could spot nothing near the corpse, and his ears caught nothing save for the sigh of the wind and the rustling of leaves. His nose was useless, for the scent of the deer overpowered everything else, but though it was odd, Spider finalized that whatever had killed the deer had fled or left long ago. Perhaps they had heard Spider approach and ran off into the forest, or had already eaten its fill and simply wandered away. Whatever the reason, the wolf slowly left the small bushes he was within, his head swaying back and forth as his caution remained, though Spider could not keep himself from picking up his pace as his eyes eventually centered upon the kill, already sizing up the best place to take a bite from. If his air of caution wasn’t already about him, Spider would not have noticed the dim snapping of twigs and the hushed rustle of branches as his mind was consumed by the desire to feast upon his discovered prize. But his ears flicked upwards at the barely audible sounds, and immediately he sprang backwards, his small body moving towards the outlying ring of bushes and trees. He barely made it to the edge of the clearing however when a black and white dog burst through the surrounding vegetation. Spider turned and watched the female as she approached the deer, backing up slowly as to avoid being seen. He did not know whether it was the dog or not that killed the dear, but the wolf would have rather avoided a fight and simply pick of whatever the dog left him. Of course Spider had no qualms about fighting her, a pack dog by the smell of it, for the rights to eat, but he wasn’t exactly inclined to be like one of the thick skulled Bloodlily brutes and openly assault her for a few bites of deer. His caution seemed for naught however, as suddenly the dog sprang forward, likely after spotting him, and grabbed a chunk of the deer before bolting back into the tree’s, the sound of snapping branches and torn leaves left behind as Spider stared at the spot in which she disappeared. Curiosity taking over as to why a Kalani dog, (barely noticeable against the stench of the deer carcass), would be this far in Bloodlily territory, and frankly not seeing anything else that he could do, Spider rushed and grabbed a hold of the deer with his teeth, ripping off a chunk of the meat before rushing into the forest, following the scent of the dog as he plunged into the mess of branch and leaf. The taste and smell of the meat he held made his mouth water, but he did not slow down as he pursued the female. Soon her scent became more prevalent in the surrounding air, and slowing down Spider began to glance around, looking for her black and white fur in the dim sunlight of the forest. He soon came across her, feasting on the chunk of deer that she had grabbed, her back turned to him as he approached. He remained in the surrounding bushes as he watched, his stride slow and timid as he quietly drew nearer to her. But try as he might, his curiosity got the better of him, and soon Spider stepped on a fallen branch, the snap resounding through the still forest. The dog immediately snapped her head up and turned in his direction, her teeth barred as she let out a growl that reached the wolf’s ears. Though the aggression was somewhat obvious, given her teeth and all, but Spider was never one to simply shy away from a new encounter, and was always one to go looking for some fun, and to him approaching an overly hostile pack dog was the definition of a good time. Emerging from the bushes, Spider walked towards the dog, dropping his piece of meat on the forest ground before looking up and smiling at the dog. ”Is that any way to treat someone you have just met? I believe I found that deer first, so if anyone should be showing their teeth and making growly sounds it should be me. But I’m all for sharing a good bit of stolen food.” Bending down his head, the wolf ripped off a chunk from the piece of deer that lay before him, swallowing the food and smiling as the taste of the fresh meat filled his mouth, his stomach already feeling fuller than it was that morning. Taking another bite, the wolf began to speak, his mouth still full of food, and his voice and posture at ease, seemingly completely oblivious to the obvious hostilities they should have had. ”So, what brings a pack dog into wolf territory.” In truth Spider was well aware and expecting to be attacked at any moment, but he wouldn’t simply do so himself. Rather he would see where this went. Whatever came next would likely guarantee a few minutes of grand fun for Spider, and for a lazy day such as this it would be as good as anything he may have come across.
