Skyla walked towards the hotel. She remembered every painful memory of when her owner had taken her there. She walked away to the back where there maybe some prey. Her eyes remained un focuse on what was around her. She could not go back any where, there was too many pain filled memories. She sat down and smelled the air for prey. She could smell a small mouse. She quickly killed it. She walked down to a ally where she could eat the mouse. She toke small bites as the dark ally made her hard to see. She finished, but was still a little sad. She could see a puddle of water and ran up to it. She started to lap up water. The water dripped off her muzzel as her eyes looked up at the sky. There were not many clouds so it was very sunny. She was soon getting hot and returned to the shade of the dark ally. She laid down and was looking around her to make sure she was safe. Skyla soon set her head down to rest. Her mouth still wet from the water and her eyes went dull as she felt nevus. For no reason, but soon snapped out of it and relaxed. Her stomach touched the cold floor. The stond ally was still cool and she would stay there until she was ready to leave. | I will find my way some day.| Skyla quietly barked to herself in the silence.

She sprinted through the streets, making her daily run of the town. It invigeratted her, one of the only things she enjoyed about being a scout. Then again she just loved being a scout. Everything was just so nice, and it was such a beautiful day. Stopping, her tongue lolling out and bouncing as she breathed vigorosly, she looked around and noticed a puddle of water in an alley way.
Quickly she trotted over and lapped up the water. It wasn't cool, but it was definately refreshing. Then eager to continue her patrol she looked up again and darted down the alley way, not paying much attention to anything else in the alley. Suddenly she fell forward when she ran into a big lump in the middle of it. She fell head over heels and landed awkwardly in front of the dog that had been napping.
She reoriented herself, feeling so embarrassed that she hadn't noticed the stranger. She looked over to see that the stranger was shaken up as well. "Oh my goodness I'm sooooooo sorry!" She stood up quickly and whined as she looked at the stranger. "I was just doing a patrol around the city and I didn't notice." She shook her head feeling even more embarrassed now, "I can be so thoughtless some times."
Then she started to recognize the dog, she was a Kaell dog, her name was somehting like.... Dawn.... or Sky... something like that anyway. Though she looked said for some reason. "Hey what's wrong? I can lsiten if there's something wrong, though some think that I talk to much, but I jsut tell them that I can listen because my owners use to tell me things all the time and I didn't make a sound." She wagged her tail and perked her ears, hoping that Dawn would brighten up. Ela hated seeing others sad.

"Oww..." Skyla grunted. Skyla shoke her head. "Thats ok, just be more careful." She growled a bit. (Sorry she was abandoned and a police dog, so yeah.) She got up looking at Elenor. Her brown eyes shown, her long legs made her tall and intimanating. Most dogs didn't bother with her. She started to trot off. "Well I will be going." She didn't pause. She had a feeling Elenor would be scared of her.

Eleanor waited patiently for the other dog to get up. She was so nice for not getting angry at her for having run into her. Though the other dog growled some, but Ela ignored it. She was probably just a little soar, which did make Ela feel bad again for not having looked for any other dog in the alley way. She really could be so careless sometimes, she had to work on that.
The dog didn't answere her question about being sad. She tilted her head as the dog got up and began to walk away. Her stature was very intimidating, she was one of those dogs that the humans use to use to catch bad guys. Though she was still a dog, and a friendly one at that. So Ela hopped on over by her side, still wagging her tail.
"Where are you going? The old hotel is right here so I suppose that would be a good place to escape the heat. What were you thinking back there? Did something really bad happen?" She bounced happily by the dog's side as she continued to think of a million things at once, wondering which ones she should ask the other dog. "My name is Eleanor by the way, but most just call me Ela, which is short for Eleanor. What's your name? What do you think of the alpha?" She spun in a circle in front of the other dog. She couldn't help she was jsut so happy and she had a new friend! Oh what a wonderful day!

"My name is Skyla, I am a spy. You can tag along if you want." Skyla barked. She kept trotting to the open street. "Let's go to the Down town, there are fountains there, we can cool down." Skyla barked. The street clered and she quickly trotted across to where the Down town is. She waalked to the fountain and started to lap up some water.

Ela spun in another circle, so happy that she had found someone to hang out with. Although she did still feel like running around the city, it would probably be best if she did. Five would be mad if she didn't finish her patrol. Oh well the pack wasn't in any immediate danger. At least to her knowledge it wasn't.
The sun was beating down on her as they continued to walk down the street. So this dog's name was Skyla. What a wonderful name indeed! Of course she thought every name was wonderful, unless it was a rude name. She didn't like those types of names. The day was getting hotter though and Eleanor thought it clever to go to the center of town. She's so smart! She thought to herself happily. Happy, happy, happy. That was what her day was, that was what everything was. Unless it was not happy, then it was sad and she didn't like beign sad. It makes her feel hollow inside.
Skyla still wasn't answering her questions, but that's ok. She was probably just so smart that she didn't need to answer such trivial questions. "So have you heard that Five is planning on choosing the high ranks soon? Are you going to try to get a high rank position?! Like beta, or Advisor or even Healer?! I don't think I could ever do something like that. I'm happy just being a scout." Gossip was nice also. Maybe Skyla had some juicy news to share as well. Ela just loved hearing about things happening in the pack. And it ws easier to talk to other faes about it rather then males. Males were wierd anyway.

"Yes, I am planning to become a healer, but of course that is Five's choce." Skyla barked. Drops of water dripped from her muzzel. She waded into the water. "Nice and cool." Skyla barked she stood in the water cooling off.

Ela splashe playfuly in the water, the cool liquid was refreshing after her long run. The day had started very warm, not a cloud in sight. She wasn't sure how long that would last though, it had been hot for days now and usually when that happened a storm came through the town, drenching it in the water the storm had soaked up.
The streets around them seemed to be very lifeless, even the dust was still. A few plants had sprouted through the cracks of the streets testifying to just how long ago it had been since the humans had maintainted them. The hotel was not to far off from where they were, she remembered lots of strange humans would stay there, of course now it was completely empty.
She smiled when she heard that Skyla wanted to become a Healer. It would be nice, after all Ela did end up hurting herself quite a bit. Plus it was hard after a skirmmish with wolves to find someone who knew anything about herbs. Ela hadn't ever really noticed Skyla before, but now she would make sure to keep an eye out for her during the next meeting. See if she really did step up to become healer.
"Nice day to cool off that's for sure!" She barked happily as she crouched down and lapped up some of it, "I do wish we could find someone else to talk to. Maybe we could even go on a hunt with a hunter!" She looked around and wagged her tail, but no one else was around at the moment. They were all probably being lazy in this heat.

"Your one of the playful dogs." Skyla Barked. She grinned then looked around. "Hmm, it must be a lazy day, there is nobody else here." Skyla observed. She sniffed the air for clues.
