The morning sun painted the sky with the light hues of pink, red, and orange. In human time, it was about six or seven, she couldn't tell. It was warm in Summer, with no storms, disasters.
Arceli felt as free as the world, with nothing to stop her. She ran at a relatively fast pace, her paw-steps thrumming the ground when it made contact with the dirt.
She went to the place she liked the most, and was rushing to get there. A Little while ago, the Whippet made sure that no one was following her. It was her solitary place, one like no other.
The Whippet sprinted across the land. She felt younger and faster; like back in her racing days. The wind whipped through her fur, messing up what was groomed. Arceli didn't really care though, she was just happy to go back.
It took about ten minutes to get there, provided it was a place that was located outside the city. When she finally got there, her legs ached and the soreness would probably show up tomorrow. She sighed in relief. The Farm. It was still there. The red building stood up high, showing no signs of abandonment even though it was still there for two years without any humans.
Sometimes other dogs would show up, but most of the time they didn't lie sticking around for long. They preferred the exciting life of the city. In the Summer it was aways too hot.
With experience, the Whippet knew where the cool spots were. She familiarized herself with the land through the seasons. It was a perfect sanctuary for the unmerciful heat of Summer
Arceli usually stayed on the farm throughout the Summer, when the sheep still there were plentiful and grazed on the acres of pasture on the area. Last time she got to the farm, some other dog claimed it for the whole year, until he left for some odd reason.
She sat down for a moment, panting and relishing the cool wind. It couldn't get any better than this.

::Genesis::|x| Markus's ears twitched at the sound of a rat scurrying into a hay bale left by the humans. He had found his way to this farm quite a while ago, but never really dared to go in since there were usually other dogs or wolves about, but he had been lucky today and found that it was completely abandoned, save the few rats, barn mice, or barn cat that would make a nice meal.
He had found his way to the back of the barn in a nice cool corner then he had contently laid down for a nice nap. That's all he really did any more; eat, sleep, and run for his life when the dogs and wolves chased him off they're territory. Ok so the last thing was a bit exciting, but Markus wasn't one for excitement. Over all things he just simply wanted to fit in.
So there he was, laying in a barn, no one around him story of his life when suddenly something happened. He could see the silhouette of a very thin looking canine in the door way. Looks like it hasn't had enough to eat recently. Who has anyway? Well if this was his or her's barn then he would have to sneak out before he was chased away again or attacked. It was so obvious that he was either a wolf or a hybrid, the latter being the truth. His horrid father had left him only one thing, the looks of a wolf, when really he felt as if he should be a dog.
He sprang to his paws, but stayed in a crouched position, making sure that he had not made a noise. If he could get to the entrance before the other one noticed his scent then he would be able to make a b-line for the forest or the city. So he set one paw in front of the other then did it again and kept making his way slowly towards the entrance, his body hugging the wall. When all of a sudden he stepped on a loose plank and it creaked so loudly that a few rats near by had scurried off fiercely. "Crap." He barked involuntarily, but then realized that it had come out as speech instead of thought. He could only hope now that the other canine had not heard him. The fur on his neck froze on end and he stayed crouched silently hoping and wishing.
((you're fine :3 )) |x|

[bg=3b1d2b][atrb=width,450,true][atrb=border,0,true] Life seemed to have its way of ruining her joyful moments. After a few moments of resting, the Whippet could hear a loud snap, accompanied by scurrying. She sighed. Dang rats...She hated those mongrels; maybe one day she'll have a collection of mouse-tails. At least when she found a permanent home.
Arceli slowly got up, her limps tired from exertion. The Whippet started to stretch knowing if she wouldn't she'd be really sore. She learned that from experience.
After finishing cooling down from the run, Arceli notied that it seemed almost silent over here, nothing could've really made many sounds. It was quieter than usual, but ignored it and relished the silence for a few moments.
Closing her eyes, the Whippet let the breeze buffet her fur again. She lifted her nose to smell the air; her nose sucking in the sweet fresh air. Arceli then frowned, there another peculiar scent that made her fur prickle. There was that similar stench that was from a dog much like herself.
Arceli began to doubt herself, now she wasn't the only dog here. Fear spiked through her core, chilling her to the bones. A small, almost inaudible whisper confirmed her suspicions. In a fit of fear and rage, Arceli snapped open her eyes and instinctively bared her teeth. She also raised her hackles, looking slightly larger and intimidating.
"Who's there?!" She growled, tense and ready to bolt if a bigger enemy came upon her. Her voice echoed through the trees in the deafening silence; despite that the birds that were starting to sing. They fell into an uneasy silence, not what had been here before.

::Genesis::|x| After he had froze it became eerily silent, even though he could hear a few birds out side chirping their little hearts out. It was silent in the barn, however, and he wasn't about to break that silence. What would he do if he was caught anyway? The canine had appeared skinny so he might be able to fight... Or run if possible.
"Who's there?" The fae's menacing growl echoed across the old walls of the barn.
Oh what a pickle he was in. He was now debating if he should bolt on the spot or face this fae and fight. He could be bigger, stronger, or he could be wrong and he really wasn't sure if he wanted to take that chance. Freedom was only a few bounds away at the shining entrance into the barn, but if he ran would the fae chase him? Quite the conundrum.
Finally even the birds had stopped and now it was a sickening silence. There was only one thing to do. He'd have to figure out if this fae was going to attack him. So he stood up from his cover and slowly walked towards the other canine with his head low and his teeth bare. "I'll fight my way out if I have to." Hmm... maybe that wasn't the right thing to say... Oh well. Over the seasons his shyness about fights had slowly melted away. He was still shy around other canines, but not when it came to fighting anymore. He use to hate fighting, but it was survival now.

[bg=3b1d2b][atrb=width,450,true][atrb=border,0,true] Now Arceli was truly scared; she hoped that it didn't show much. The male dog walked out from the barn's door, obviously much bigger than she was. She thick fur made him look even more bigger, more intimidating. She wondered there was actually muscle or fat under his fur.
What would happen if I do attack? She thought, analyzing the situation. There'd be a ton of blood, violence. Her speed could probably give her and advantage but the male's strength and bulkiness could be a disaster. Maybe running around until he tires would be a good idea, but what would happen if he caught her before he cold be tired at all? Then she'd be wounded, or maybe even worse, dead. She stopped baring her teeth, still frowning.
So what if she didn't attack? It'd seriously hurt her pride. Then she'd have to scram for it and find another place to shelter in. Food and water would be hard to get b, with other dogs in the way. But then, she found dread rising in her chest. What if he still comes after her if she withdraws? That'd be bad. Maybe going to the farm again wasn't such a good idea, considering all of her former experiences here.
Arceli decided on a decision. She'd have to not fight, for once. She narrowed her eyes, giving the best glare she could muster. She ducked her head low, and smoothed her face out into a passive one. "It depends if you're willing to share..." She growled, nearly spitting on the last word. She didn't like sharing at all.

::Genesis::|x| A bit surprised he had just noticed the scrawny looking female. She had closed her maw, but she was still trying to be intimidating. Well he was sure that he run out of the barn now seeing as how she'd probably wouldn't chase him. Still he kept his fur bristled and his fangs showing, just in case she decided to be brave.
For a while she seemed to be examining him like she was wondering if it was really worth it or not. He was asking himself the same thing. If they did fight he would be injured and she would get injured probably much more seriously and that would leave them both weak. Something that he did not want to happen. Especially since this world was based on the strongest.
"It depends if you're willing to share..." He could hear her really stress the last word as if it tasted bitter or something.
Suddenly he felt really guilty. She must be scared out of her wits because of him or at least intimidated. All he had wanted was a nap he never wanted to get into this. Almost as soon as he had realized this he spoke, "Did... Did I scare you? I'm sorry..." His timidness coming back to him. "I can sit outside the barn and sleep if that's alright?" He had never meant to seem like a bully. After all he was bullied so much why would he want to cause that pain to others?
He loosened his shoulders and his fur laid flat, but he still stood strong, just in case. Never trust anyone; it had been burned into his mind. And he wasn't about to forget it.

[bg=3b1d2b][atrb=width,450,true][atrb=border,0,true] As she was analyzing him, Arceli had noticed that the male too, was calculating the chances and odds if he made a move. She watched him for a little while, eying his every move with a glare, baiting him to do something. Odd are that, with her being so thin, scrawny and small(compared to the male), he'd chase her off. What happened next took her completely by surprise.
Suddenly his face moved, and she tensed; but it suddenly turned into an obviously bad feeling. Not mad, or sad, but guilt. she could tell with his frowning, and that glint in his eye.
The male then laid his fur flat and calmed down. Doing so, Arceli relaxed too, her hackles down. Though, her suspicions remained; sometimes dogs are so hungry they'd go as low as to deceive and kill you in your sleep. She was still tensed and ready to bolt of he suddenly changed his mind.
She narrowed his eyes slightly when he spoke. He apologized, willing to share the barn, and even yet, sacrifice his shelter for her? Her of all placed, who is a stranger? He even asked for permission to stay outside and nap.
This was new experience, living a solitary life for a long time was lonely to her. Maybe it'll turn out being a good experience after all, sharing prey and lightening the load. She'll have to see though, if she ever gets the chance.
Arceli spoke with a curios, but cautious voice, "What are your motives? Why are you doing this?" She tried to keep the growl out of her voice, to make sure she didn't provoke him or anything.

::Genesis::|x| Genesis could hear a few birds flutter through the doors to get to some nests in the barn roof, but he didn’t dare move his eyes from the dog in front of him. They had been standing there for a fair amount of time now. Both were locked on to each other’s eyes and he could see that she was trying to predict his very movements. If only he could see what was going on in her mind right now, then he’d feel so much better about this whole situation.
He could see that her eyes had narrowed once he had spoken, and she seemed to be pondering over his words. Now that he thought of it, why had he apologized? He could’ve just run away. It’s my nature… Was the simple answer. He wasn’t one to upset others or to cause a fight. That’s why he was less likely to survive on his own for much longer.
"What are your motives? Why are you doing this?" Her voice was definitely not as harsh as it had been before; it was more curious and cautious.
Now that was a good question… What was it that he wanted? He shoke his head at the thought, dissatisfied with the pitiful answer that came to mind. “I um… I don’t know… I just never meant to scare anyone. I don’t want to fight.” He stared at her pleading that she let down her guards so that he wouldn’t feel so bad about all of this. He may sound like a wimp, but really he was in no mood to fight for his life right now. He never really was, but that was the world that he lived in and that was its law.

[bg=3b1d2b][atrb=width,450,true][atrb=border,0,true] Her ears perked at the sound of fluttering, if this were a normal day, Arceli wouldn't have paid much attention to it; today it was different. It sounded so loud, that it almost hurt her ears, she was completely aware of all of her surroundings. Even though some of the tension has been released, the Whippet still struggled to do something, anything. Laugh like it was big joke or just run for at least some leniency, but no, she stood stock still.
The other dog seemed to be smart, for he was thinking if the choices, too. She could see it in his eyes. It was that semi-distant, thoughtful glint that gave it away. I um… I don’t know… I just never meant to scare anyone. I don’t want to fight. He said, words echoing in her thoughts.
She was surprised. Male dogs usually liked to display their toughness, wanting to battle all of the time, or at least loner dogs. This dog was different. He was somewhat timid, kind, and admitting that he doesn't want to fight. He sounded kind of weak, but she brushed it off. Then the dog pleaded to her, staring with large eyes.
She was confused at his behavior, but got the message, and willingly un-tensed, and sighing. This will bite my in the butt someday. She thought, closing her eyes briefly and shaking her head. She didn't want to grow soft, but at least things finally came in favor. She stared back at the dog with a neutral face te started to walkhis time, calm and collected.
"Just...don't get in the way." She said, "...The prey will be shared if there isn't enough." Arceli added, deciding to add some leniency for the poor dog. It could always be a trick, she can ill you in your sleep. She sighed again, "Then either of us will take shifts while the other is sleeping. At night. There isn't any reason to guard during the day. Alright?"
All of this was making her tired, the Whippet realized. With the adrenaline and tension gone, it took a toll on her. She yawned, ready for some sleep. "I'm taking a nap." She started to walk towards the shed. Hopefully there was some hay there.
__________ I hope it's not too crappy x3 And I thought yours was good! I hope you don't mind. What do you think we should do now?

::Genesis::|x| This tiny fae was so tense, they both were, she was so still and the silence seemed to begin ringing in his ears. He could see her struggle with what to do; he wouldn’t be surprised if she just ran. After all he was immense compared to her small stature. But he could see that she was about to speak again and he perked up intent on listening to what she had to say.
"Just...don't get in the way." She said with what seemed like a hint of irritation in her voice, "...The prey will be shared if there isn't enough." He hadn’t expected her to say that. The tension of the surroundings seemed to dissipate into nothing, leaving only a glint of uneasiness. “Then either of us will take shifts while the other is sleeping. At night. There isn't any reason to guard during the day. Alright?"
He focused in on her again, “Ya… Ya sure, that sounds good.” Strangely enough he could tell that she didn’t trust him, but it didn’t seem to matter. He was just surprised that she had actually accepted his apology and let him stay in the barn. Maybe under her tough exterior there was a compassionate soul so corny. But he tried not to trouble himself with these thoughts.
Instead he began to wander over to a corner as he heard her announce that she was taking a nap. ”I think I will too..” The day seemed to have gotten hotter. He couldn’t imagine hunting any prey right now, it would be to stressful. Heat always had a way of making him tired/lazy. So he went over to his corner and plopped down, sending dust flying around as he did so.

Arceli stared uneasily at the dog. He'd just plopped down on the ground, whereas she'd have to walk into a circle, and had to carefully lay down. She shifted a little, getting more comfortable and laid her head on her paws.
Her thoughts turned toward the dog, eyes closing in the process. He sounded nice, maybe the dog can actually be useful. He was muscular, and looked powerful under that fur. She could use him to hunt, and move things that would usually get in the way.
Arceli knew that she couldn't keep using he and the dog all of the time. She needed to learn his name soon. For some reason, it came to her that it was important to learn his name. It actually bothered her that she didn't know him. It was a weird feeling. She was just about to drift into unconsciousness-
Snap. Her eyes popped open immediately, alert. Arceli swept her eyes at the dog, wondering he was asleep. "Did you hear that?" She said in a hushed whisper, adrenaline coursing through her veins. Sh tried to remain neutral, but it the panic was obvious in her face.

::Genesis::|x| Yes the quietness began to set in and he felt himself relax. Now that all that tension was gone he could think about what was going to happen next. Would he stay with this dog? After all if she wasn’t to happy about sharing this barn with him then he probably shouldn’t stay very long. His thoughts were too cluttered to sleep so what he actually was doing was sitting there with his eyes half open; staring at the wooden floor.
Hmm… This was quite nice actually. Just laying there, sharing a barn with… with the small fae whose name he did not know. It would be nice to know her name, incase he ever ran into her again. Of course he hadn’t decided whether to stay or leave yet; even though leaving seemed like the best thing to do. He found his eyes straying over to the other dog. She looked so peaceful, just laying there in the opposite corner. He would say that she was nice for letting him stay, but now that he thought of it she probably only let him stay because he was bigger then her.
Suddenly a noise came from outside. His head shot up instinctively and he scanned the area. The other dog had gotten up as well and Genesis answered her question, ”Yes… What do you think we should do?” It had sounded almost like there was another animal out there. If it was a larger predator then they were in trouble. He never fought a larger animal before and he had never really planned on it who does? Oh what another awful situation. He seemed to be a magent for awful situations today.

[bg=3b1d2b][atrb=width,450,true][atrb=border,0,true] Arceli grew alarmed, panicked. Her hairs that had just settled down were straight up. She whipped her head around, looking for a potential predator. Nothing came.
At least not yet
Her heart was beating madly, she thought of every different scenarios. What if it was a big cat or a wolf? Or something worse than that? She trembled, her fear overpowering her toughness. The Whippet shook her head, trying to break away from the thoughts. She took deep breathes, and decided that it was now or never.
"I-I'll go check it out, if I don't come back or you hear something, you know what to do..." She growled lowly, hated how she'd stuttered. Arceli carried her legs outside, silently slipping through the barn door with ease. The cool grass touched her paws, it was the mid-point between the morning and noon.
Adrenaline pumped through her veins, as the Whippet projected her ears for every sound, her eyes scanning for anything that moved. Arceli looked around, confused. Where did that sound come from? She'd sure she'd heard it, because the other dog had, too.
It was seemingly perfect until a sudden force on her side sent her sprawling into the ground. She gasped at the pain that suddenly had laced up her side. Her body hit the grass with a small thump. It was enough to daze her for a few seconds which managed to turn Arceli into a defenseless dog.

Leon was taking his morning run. He felt the wind fly past him has his powerful legs hit the ground with force and he pushed off of them. His tongue hang from his mouth, and his ears were pinned against his head.
Leon watched the barn approach him and he closed his eyes, letting the air whip past him. His dual colored eyes re-opened and he skidded to a stop, his eyes rested on a barn of some sort. He scaled this barn. He seemed alert of something. Something was in the area. He heard stwo dogs mumbling inside the barn. He waited a moment before speaking up.
He heard a soft voice murmur from the dog inside. Something about she will go check? Had he startled them? Was there something else in the area? He crouched low in the quiet of the tall uncut grass. What was going on? Should the Husky say something before something happens to him?
The dog, appearently female, walked into the clearing. She was a skinny dog, a Whippet. Made for running. Leon got a little excited before realizing that she was not looking to run. Her stance was cautious and careful as she padded out to the open area, and she seemed to be looking for something.
He suddenly caught something of a large creature come towards the barn, and a thud of the Whippet hitting the ground. With that, Leon stood fast, pushing himself up with his powerful running legs and dashing to the barn. He didn't care who just attacked what, but something was going on and Leon wanted to be the big brave doggy to save the day.

::Genesis::|x| Genesis could feel his legs shaking under him. The other dog spoke up in the stillness and stated that she would go and check it. He was happy that she had offered to go, but he felt that he should go with her to make sure nothing happened to her. After all she was so small, who knows what a larger predator could do to her.
A few yards behind her he stood at the entrance and scanned the area. Everything seemed to have calmed down, but that was when he noticed the large cat moving towards her. His paws tingled when he saw it creep up and swing a paw at her. The fae hit the ground with a small thump and he suddenly felt frozen in place, staring at her motionless body. Everything had slowed down now and that was the only thing he could see. I don’t even know her name… He realized with a jolt of regret. There was no way she could be dead… right?
Suddenly rage began to overcome his fear. These were his instincts beginning to kick in. He found himself crouching then springing up at full speed straight for the large cat. He snarled and dive into its side, making it stumble backwards in shock. It regained its composure and hissed at the sudden assault. Genesis shoke his head, but kept his eyes trained on the cat. This battle would not be easy alone, although it appeared that the fae was coming to again she was practically defenseless. Strangely enough he could hear paw steps coming closer. Oh good maybe some one else has found us. He didn’t have time to look for the new canine however, because the cat lunged at him and he side stepped just in time.

Gotcha Whirlpool!~
Leon skidded to a halt when he realized what the large creature that knocked over the Whippet. His eyes lay upon a large cat. The muscles in the shoulders of the beast rippled like water. The sight of the thing made his blood run cold. His heart began beating at an insane rate. Standing statue still, his eyes wide and his legs refusing to move, the large beast turned his attention from the other dog.
Leon cursed under his breath as the creature's pupils dilated and charged at him. Leon felt the decision of when and how to avoid impact coming much to fast. Leon urged his legs to move, for him to jump out of the way. The feline's legs hit the ground rhythmically and as the last few strides towards Leon came, he felt his legs finally move, but it was only a second too late.
Leon felt his ribs take the impact of the beast's full body weight. Sending a Yelp from his throat, Leon flew backwards, landing in the grass. The impact from the fall caused his vision to engulf in black for a few second, when he came back to consciousness, realizing the cat was right over him. Leon had to think fast, the moment was in confusion, but with his strong hind legs he rolled over onto his back and kicked up with all he could, not aiming from anything, just a way out.
Leon's strong legs hit the cat in the belly. The cat reared back and let out a growl of pain, giving Leon a moment to roll over and jump up onto his fours. His side throbbed with pain, but only enough pain for a bruise or two. Pushing off with his legs again, he bounded over to the other dog, ready to fight side by side with this dog.
Leon's breaths were hard and frequent. His tongue hung limp from his mouth, the exertion of energy. His eyes were determined and ready, his ears stood up on his body and his stance low to the ground and ready to jump or juke.
"Let's nail this kitty-cat" He said, a growl rising in his throat. The valor showing through Leon's overall appearance at this moment. He crouched lower as the cat turn again, ready for another charge.
--
Leon is a little Cocky, I thought this would be an awesome way to bring him up as a cocky little race dog. And I used a coin flip for hit and misses with the predator. :3

::Genesis::|x| ((coin flip is a good idea for fighting =D I think I'll do that too.)) Genesis trembled a bit when he saw that cat move to the side to face the other dog. Just in time, now he could go check on the fae. He strided over to where she had hit the ground. He nosed her once with his muzzle, trying to be as gentle as possible, in case it had hurt her. He barked at her hoping that she would respond, but she laid there, the only movement was he breathing.
From behind he could hear the snarls and the fighting starting to escalate. He'd have to get rid of this cat before he helped her out. He ran over again just as the new comer had finished an evasive maneuver. To him the dog seemed a little bit arrogant in his stance and the strange comment he made, but whatever this was a battle! His legs shivered when he leapt forward to the cat. His teeth sunk into a flap of skin on it's back and he tried to balance himself, but it swung him off violently and he landed with a loud thud. His head began to swim in pain even though he forced himself to get up again as if he were fine.
Looking over to the other dog that was now on the other side of the cat he realized that this might work better if they both tried to confuse the cat by attacking. He hoped that the other dog was realizing this also, but he didn't have time to say anything since the cat had turned to him again and swiped a paw at him. He jumped back just a second to late and it narrowly hit him, the sharp claw skimmed across his muzzle and pain shot through his face. It didn't feel like it was to big, but he could feel the blood trickling down his muzzle now. He stepped back and wiped his muzzle with his forearm, whining a little from the pain. He got back into position and growled at the cat.

The fight far away sounded distant, and Arceli fade in and out of consciousness for the next few minutes. She let out a whimper in distress. Why had that blow hurt her so much? It was a normal tackle, she couldn't have gotten down that hard, could she? Was this predator just bigger, more violent, or was she just weak? The questions swirled around in her mind, until the commotion in the fight brought her back to reality.
She wanted to fight now. Her paws moved to get up, but the Whippet couldn't get them to even stand. She hated playing damsel in distress, the girl who always needs help. The Whippet wanted to get up and into battle as soon as possible. Apparently now it wasn't a choice. ______________

Leon watched the male look over the female worriedly. He payed no attention, and noticed the dog was now fully engaged with the cat. The dog was taking a real beating, being tossed around like a rag-doll. He crouched low and realized what could work. His mind congratulated himself for such a wonderful idea. He crouched low, his eyes found a weak moment in the cat's ability to fight two dogs at once; confusion.
Leon watched the cat turn his back to swipe a massive blow to the other dog's face. Leo took advantage of this moment, and just as the paw made contact with the other dog's face, Leon swiped out his paw as he jumpped forwards. The paw swung through the air, and powered by Leon's muscles, hit it's mark. The paw came in contact with the large Feline's leg and made it's body weight fell from under him. No more support made it hard to fight. The Feline's moment of distress would not last long however, so Leone needed to act fast. Leon took another step forward and used his weight to push down on the cat's paws while Leon bit at the cat's face. Feeling flesh tear under his teeth, he heard the feline snarl in pain and push the Husky off balance, causing him to fall.
The fall didn't hurt that bad, his ribs taking most of the fall and his sturdy build helped him not to feel too much of the pain, the pain was still yet to come. however. the large cat returned Leon's move with a full pin. Leon felt the cat's weight on his chest as large paws kneeaded and pressed against his neck. Would he die in the moment? All Leon had to hope is that the other dog recognized his situation and lent a helping hand. The cat's eyes stared into his and a grin wiped across it's face as it took it's time, thinking it would get the final blow to the dog's head to kill him. Leon spotted the wounds he inflicted on the cat's face and that was the only thing at the moment he was able to smile about.
