The forest was bright and birds fluttered from tree to tree as little creatures scurried through the under brush. Some how a border collie had managed to get herself lost in this expanse of trees. Eleanor slowly inched forward, realizing just how deep in trouble she was.
This is wolf terriotry this is wolf territory. She repeated over and over again to herself, scolding herself with every step she took deeper into the forest. All she had been doing was following an interesting scent trail and then she had looked up to see nothing but trees every where. She had gotten lsot before, but never in her life this bad. She knew that if a wolf found her she would be dead meat. Her lifeless body broken between a large wolf's glimmering fangs.
Her ears were plastered to her head as she looked around, whinning as she scanned the area. No this was not good at all. In normal circumstances she would be taken in awe at the beautiy of the forest around her, but she just couldn't admire anything when she knew a wolf could be lurking in the shadows.
Something moved behind her and she jumped forward with a yip and took off in a heartbeat. She ran so fast, not sure if she was even running the right way, but then she ran straight into some large mass. She flew back and whinned in pain as she looked for what exactly she had run into. Her vision blurred, but it looked like a dark silhouette of a canine, maybe even a wolf. "DON'T EAT ME!" She lowered her head and tried to look as unthreatening as possible.

Spider Spider was lost in the sounds and scents of the bright forest day, his mind at ease as he slowly walked underneath the bright green canopy that blanketed the woods and cast dim shadows about the forest floor. Sun streamed in to land upon the ground, the bright rays casting a warm and bright glow about the trees and bushes that surrounded the wolf. It wasn’t uncomfortably hot, though like all summer days it was always a welcome experience when a stiff breeze blew through, the leaves atop the trees rustling slightly, joining the already existent chorus of sounds that filled the forest, from the occasional splashing of a small creek to the snapping of twigs by the disturbance of a small creature. It was all things considered a perfect day, and quite rare for Spider, he was not so much interested in running around, but was quite happy to simply walk and enjoy the weather and the area around him, even if it was just for a small amount of time. Though the forest was full of sounds they all were dim and hushed, more a background noise to the slow wanderings of the wolf, his thoughts drowning out most that was around him. That was, until the sound of a high pitched cry broke through the surrounding trees, immediately pulling Spider from his trance of enjoyment. Snapping to full attention, the wolf glanced about, his head tilted in curiosity as his ears perked up to catch any further sounds. He could not spot anything that might have made the sound, though the odd noise had seemed farther off. Deciding in interest that he would search for the source of the out of place noise, the wolf began to step forward, quickening his pace. However, he did not go more than a few steps before the growing sound of twigs snapping and leaves being torn aside caught his ear, and he stopped in his tracks, his head lifting and turning towards the source of the noise. Peering through the tangle of branches and green leaves that blocked his vision, Spider tried in vain to peer through the sun illuminated area, but could not spot exactly what was making so much noise. It was clear it was a creature of some kind, and was making great haste, but aside from that the wolf knew nothing more. Before he could decide whether to continue his search or simply walk away, Spider became aware for the briefest of moments that the source of the noise was not simply nearby, it was heading straight for him. And before he could so much as tilt his head the creature burst through the surrounding wall of plant, Spider having only enough time to let out a yelp of surprise before the mass of silver and white fur collided straight into the wolf, knocking both of them backwards. Picking himself up and shaking his head, Spider looked down at the dog that now stood before him, her head lowered as she shouted, asking him not to eat here. It took every bit of self control that Spider had not to burst out laughing at the sight of the dog, cowering before him after just running straight through the forest and barreling right into him. Out of all the wolves Spider was actually likely one of the best to get into such a situation with, he was never really one to simply attack a random wolf or dog, unlike the hardheaded brutes that made up the Bloodlily pack. Still, this did not mean he wouldn’t take advantage of such a great situation. Barring his fangs, Spider lowered his body to the ground as if ready to jump while he mustered the most intimidating growl he could, probably not terribly convincing since he was stifling his laughter, the edges of a smile forming around his mouth, but the wolf hoped in the confusion the dog wouldn’t be able to notice this. Putting on the most infuriated and frustrated voice he could, again the hints of his amusement seeped through, but Spider would have to work with it, he then began to slowly speak to the dog in front of him. ”I don’t take kindly to mutts running through my territory or deciding to run into me.” Lifting up his head and glaring at the dog, a female by the look of it, Spider paused, and in doing so he caught the smell of the Kaell pack on the dog. Wonderful, it would make his little game that much better if she believed him to be one of the Bloodlily wolves, since the two packs weren’t on the friendliest of terms with one another. Continuing, Spider took a step forward as he spoke. ”Now that you mention it, I haven’t had a good meal for some time now…” Moving slowly towards her, Spider pulled together the last of what he had into an attempt to make his movements appear menacing and deadly, as if he indeed was about to attack the female. Of course instead of such thoughts his mind was roaring with laughter, but as long as the dog didn’t realize this and he could continue his little game Spider would be happy. He had not intentions of hurting the female, but that didn’t mean he wouldn’t have as much fun as he could.

If she had known this morning that she would end up in a situation like this then she would have just lied in a shaded alley way, enjoying what she had. Now her very life was in danger and it was all her fault. If only there was someone there to help her, like the Alpha, then she wouldn't feel so cowardly. But no there was no one there to protect her from the large wolf that stood before. There was no use in fighting either since she was almost like a pup compared to his stature. So it really did seem hopeless at this point.
The wolf bared his fangs and looked so very menacing. She wasn't paying attention to anything else, but this beast before her that started scolding her for running into his territory. She wasn't sure if she could smell Bloodlily's scent on him specifically, but he was acting like he was so it must be true. Now he would kill her and possibly eat her for trespassing. That's what wolves do isn't it? The brutes eat helpless little dogs like me that get lost. So many horrific visions ran through her head as she slowly looked up at the wolf. His snarling face would forever be etched into her mind, well for however much longer she was going to live. She lowered her head again, waiting for the wolf to say something else. Fear wracked her body and she knew that anything she said would only make the situation worse. Then he mentioned that he hadn't had a meal in a long time.
She shot her head up and stared at him with wide eyes. In some deep part of her she had been hoping that he wasn't going to eat her and that the stories she had heard were only fairy tales, but it was true. “No please! I'm not even that much meat, just look at me I'm skin and bones! The Kaell pack is having trouble with prey, I-I-I could hunt something for you instead!” The stream of jargon poured out of her mouth and she could hardly contain herself. She wanted to continue on, and it did inside her mind. The thoughts buzzed inside her head like an angry bumble bee and they were moving by so fast, developing into one final statement, Well, if I'm gonna die, it won't be without a fight.
Her demeanor suddenly changed to a more aggressive stance. Adrenaline was making her act quickly and normally she wouldn't be so bipolar, but this was serious. She snarled at the wolf, “If you try I can guarantee you a fight for as long as I still breathe!” Then she lunged at the wolf's lower leg, hoping that in some change of fate she would be able to grab a hold of it and injure him enough so that he would limp and not be able to make chase to her. Though moments before she came close to it she felt incredibly stupid, realizing that he could easily dodge the poorly planned attack.

Spider Spider continued to slowly inch towards the cowering female dog before him, his head lowered towards the ground and his fangs barred. Though even as he came closer to the Kalani dog his “menacing snarl” probably was starting more to look like a widening smile, though he kept his teeth showing in the most aggressive way he could manage with the current state of his mind, cascading with amusement as it was. With each step of his paws the thick silence of the forest around them was broken by the slightest snap of a twig, the ruffle of a fallen leaf, and the continuous low yet audible growl that emitted from Spider’s mouth. As he looked on the dogs face it took all the willpower the wolf had and more to prevent himself from simply bursting out into a chorus of laughter. The look on her face was priceless. It was clear she was terribly afraid of him, her head lowered to the ground as fear shook her body, and her eyes remaining focused straight at Spider’s approaching form, never leaving the sight she likely believed would be her last. He couldn’t help but turn his growl into a throaty laugh for the slightest of moments, as he observed that the dog had taken his bluff about him wanting to eat her. Spider wasn’t really sure if the Bloodlily wolves ate the dogs, they probably believed the meat from the mutts would be too vile to consume, but honestly the wolf wouldn’t hold it past the brutes to try. Of course Spider had no intentions of actually eating her, the thought made him gag slightly as he continued his slow and solemn mock aggressive approach. He may have been a loner, but he wasn’t that desperate. Still, when the female’s head abruptly lifted, her eyes widening in pure terror, her voice frantically stammering out that she was all skin and bones and would not be fit for being eaten, and offering to hunt for Spider instead, he reveled in the moment. It was all false of course on his part, but her fear, her shock at the possibility of being eaten by Spider, was all too real, and together it made one of his greatest triumphant’s of trickery, at least in the recent months. The pack dogs and wolves were usually no fun, but in this dog he had found a shine of golden opportunity! At least for himself, he doubted the dog was finding it as amusing as he was. Caught in such thoughts, Spider turned his eyes which had drifted back towards the dog, and stopped his approach in complete surprise, his eyes widening slightly as he even took a step back. The face and demeanor of the dog had changed completely, and now the female’s body was in a stance of aggression, her teeth barred and glinting softly in the dim sunlight of the forest. His snarl disappearing slightly, the wolf wondered whether he had pushed it too far, not that he really cared so much on the dogs’ part, but he was enjoying himself quite a good deal, and if the dog began to show aggression as well their “little game” would soon be over. As to prove this sudden change of mindset, the dog viciously spoke forward that she would not simply go down without a fight. Spider pondered this for the slightest of moments, and was about to decide simply to leave with a warning and avoid any real confrontation, when the dog suddenly charged towards him, her teeth sinking down towards his leg. Wrapped up in the thoughts that had passed through his mind when the dog had so abruptly changed her stance, it was only Spider’s high agility that allowed him to dodge the bite, jumping back quickly as the dogs teeth snapped into thin air. The attack in itself was poorly aimed in the female’s desperation, but it was too close a call for Spider, and immediately his hostile posture and snarling face were replaced with a tense but shocked expression, his body lowering towards the ground ready to flee or fight, preferring the first of course, but this time out of necessity, not out of a game or act of amusement. The dog had taken their game too far, and as he began to speak his voice reflected this. ”Hey! I like my legs as they are, and I don’t intend on having to limp around for the rest of the day thanks to you.” Calming down slightly, Spider’s body relaxed, and a thin smile spread across his face as a slight chuckle escaped his mouth. ”You pack dogs are so high-strung, it’s no wonder you’re continually fighting each other.” His sudden change in demeanor, from his initial hostile yet fake stance to his now usual free spirited one was likely quite evident by the dog, and already the wolf was getting ready to either face her words, or simply turn around and run if he had too. But as for now he lay down upon the forest ground, the leaves and needles brushing against his fur as he crossed his paws in front of him, his gaze coming up to glance at the dog, his smile widening as the laughter which he tried hard to contain began to escape through his half-closed teeth.
